Short story

There was man and his son sitting a home. Recently the mother went out and bought a jar of pickles. Already known to the father, his son had a liking for these pickles. So often that the boy would go to the refrigerator more than a few times a day to eat them. After coming from the kitchen into the living room the father noticed the smell of pickles on his son's breath. Have been you eating those pickles again, the father asked his son. Yes father, he replied. They taste so good, he added. Son, the father said. I want you to stop eating those pickles immediately. They will make you sick, he sternly told him. From this moment forth you are not to eat any more pickles. The child acknowledged. Okay father. It was a holiday week so the boy was home from school, but the father had to go to work. Morning came and the father went to work. After he left, the child craving a taste went down to the kitchen and disobediently ate a pickle. Soon after he became sick from ingesting so many pickles at once. The moral of the story is obedience. Just because the father left the house doesn't mean the rules no longer apply. Meaning, it's that strength of obeying without having to be told. That's the commitment.
